Algonquin For
Canoeists
by Jeff's Map
Updated for 2012 Jam-packed with
information collected from a wide variety of sources (government data, park
information, triplogs, satellite photos and "on the ground" research) this is
the ultimate map series for canoeing and hiking in Algonquin. Jeffrey is
continuously updating his map, and we will always offer the most current
available. The current edition is dated June 2012. Click
here for an example of a portion
of the map. The detail is excellent!
There are 5 different
maps: 4 regional areas, plus one of the whole park. The whole park is
shown here.
Prices and sizes:
- The entire park (41.5" x 69"): $37.00 on paper, or $57.00 on
polypropylene (waterproof). This is intended as a wall map as it is a bit too
large to be taken out in the park. The large wall map is at a scale of
1:118,000.
- In addition, there are four waterproof regional maps priced at
$15.00 each. Each regional map measures 24" x 36" and is packed with
information on trip planning, access points, fish and wildlife in the park, as
well as other useful information. All canoe routes and portages, as well as
campsites and points of interest are indicated on the maps. Waterproof,
tear-resistant - they even float! Regional Maps are at a scale of
1:84,000.
Coverage areas of
the regional maps:
Note, these areas overlap and have been arranged so that any typical
route would only require a single map.
